ZIYANDA Consulting cc was appointed to provide consulting services for the preparation of a Water Services Provider Plan (WSPBP) for water and sanitation service provision in the UMgungundlovu District Municipality. This project aimed to assist the UMDM to conclude the takeover of water services provision from the Local Municipalities (LM’s) and formulate and adopt a WSPBP for the internal mechanism. The WSPBP was to include the following elements as required by the RFP;

• A Technical Plan
• Capacity Assessment and building for the WSP function
• WSA/WSP Contract
• Sustainable Financial Plan
• Water Services Replacement and Rehabilitation Plan
• Scheduled Maintenance and Emergency Plan
• Consumer Care Plan
• Water Conservation and Water Demand Management Plan
• Human Resources Development Plan
• Water Services Communication Plan
• Water Quality Assurance Plan
