Riverside Water & Sanitation Project

Under this project it was intended to commission and bring into operation the bulk infrastructure to provide a water and sanitation service to the occupants. ZIYANDA Consulting was appointed to manage the activities to result in the testing, repair or construction of infrastructure to enable the commissioning of the existing water scheme and sewage ponds serving housing development.

The work implemented under this project included two contracts:

1. Mechanical Contract

• The supply and installation of electrical and mechanical equipment to equip the sewage pumpstation to pump sewage from the sump at the pumpstation to the sewage oxidation ponds
• The testing, servicing and commissioning of electrical, mechanical and other equipment in the water treatment package plant.

2. Civil and Plumbing Contract

• The refurbishment of the sewage pumpstation
• The cleaning of water and sewer pipelines
• The testing of water and sewer pipelines
• The repair of damaged pipelines, if any
• The construction of new pipelines, where required
• The disinfection and commissioning of water pipelines and reservoir
