Harding Utility Mapping & Condition Assessment

ZIYANDA Consulting was appointed to provide consulting services for the Area North mains replacement and it involved the construction of 100-300mm diameter x 94km long steel/upvc pipelines and associated pipe bridges at stream crossings. This included:

• Capacity and condition assessment of pipelines in the Harding System and come up with a pipeline replacement plan for the town.
• Preparation of a GIS based utility map of the entire town with proper attribute data such as pipe age, pipe diameter, pipe material etc. The maps must be overlaid with data from other utilities such as Eskom and Telkom.
• Condition and capacity rating of each pipeline in the system.
• Pipeline replacement plan, in appropriate phases, for the Harding System together with cost estimates for each phase.
• Preparation of tender documents and construction management for identified lines within the Harding system.
• Commissioning/handover
