Bhobhoyi – Uvongo Pipeline Or Southern Mains Pipeline

This project is part of a bulk water supply project, undertaken on a separate appointment with other consultants undertaking the upgrade of a water treatment works and storage facilities. ZIYANDA Consulting were consultants responsible for the following:

• Assessments of existing bulk water pipelines (condition and capacity) delivering up to 104Ml/day;
• Design and implementation of bulk water pipelines to augment supply capacity.

The resulting project was the implementation of 10km x 600mm diameter steel pipeline constructed in two phases. Phase 1 which is approximately 7km has been completed successfully and commissioned. Phase 2 is under construction.

Beneficiaries: The population to benefit from the project is approximately 105,000.
