ZIYANDA Consulting is proud to support Never Never Land Creche

Now in existence for over 18 years, Never Never Land Full Creche in Cedara is run by Zandile Khoza. The creche draws children from 3 poverty struck villages in the district of Cedara KZN. These villages consist of 86 rudimentary concrete brick houses and shacks of which the inhabitants struggle to find work.

The creche provides services such as baby and child care and teaching for older children. The South African Government -Department of Education does not supply funds to creche or preschool. There are 82 children at the school currently and they range in age from 22 months to 6 years of age. There is a set fee of R150.00 per month but only 15% of the parents can afford it. In some cases children can’t attend because they live in child headed families.

For some time ZIYANDA Consulting has provided monthly grocery which ensures children receive breakfast and lunch.

Emandleni Village is the home of Never Never Land. The settlement is immediately adjacent to the main railway line and the main road between Durban and Johannesburg,and is by any measure a poor community.

Jobs are scare and the incidence of HIV and Aids has had a dramatic effect on families. Never Never Land has had a significant impact in building hope and pride in the area.
